Hear the Secret Sisters’ Entrancing ‘Little Drummer Boy’
There’s nothing quite like sibling harmonies, as fans of the Everly Brothers or the Bee Gees know. Now, just in time for Christmas, The Secret Sisters – Alabama natives Laura and Lydia Rogers – lend their gorgeous voices to a gentle version of “Little Drummer Boy.”
With their lilting vocals wrapping around each other, accompanied only by an acoustic guitar, they bring their finest gifts to lay before the king, as described in the holiday classic, written in 1941 by Katherine Kennicott Davis. Their version of the tune is being offered as a free download, though donations are also welcome. Listen below.
The siblings, who have not released a full album since 2014’s Put Your Needle Down, are recording a new set, produced by singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile and The Twins (members of Carlile’s band). The Secret Sisters’ fans funded the album, due out in January, via Pledgemusic. Following its release, the duo will take to the high seas next year to perform on the Cayamo Cruise in February and the Outlaw Country Cruise in March.
