Hear Fifth Harmony’s Normani Kordei Soulfully Cover Solange
Fifth Harmony‘s Normani Kordei has unveiled her mashup of two songs from Solange‘s A Seat at the Table. The singer takes on “Don’t Touch My Hair” and “Cranes in the Sky,” which USA Today premiered.
During the almost five-minute track, Kordei soulfully sings over the Invaders’ delicate production and finger-snapped rhythms. She effortlessly blends together the songs, which are buoyed by beautifully harmonized background vocals.
“I was inspired by Solange’s album, A Seat at the Table, from the moment I heard it,” she told USA Today. “She has clearly taken the time to create a unique body of work and emote through her music from a true place.”
Last month, Camila Cabello announced her exit from Fifth Harmony. The remaining members posted their first photo as a quartet on Thursday.

While Kordei has maintained she will remain in Fifth Harmony, this is her second solo mashup in as many months. She unveiled her rendition of Drake’s “Fake Love” and “Sneakin'” in December.
Kordei also told the newspaper about her “prosperous” year ahead, and said, “not only regarding Fifth Harmony and this new chapter together, but also my own personal endeavors in and outside of music.”
