See Metallica Rock Supermarket With Impromptu ‘Enter Sandman’
Metallica dropped by a Hollywood supermarket on Thursday and rather than filling up their cart with the night’s dinner items, the band treated patrons to their classic “Enter Sandman,” TMZ reports.
In a clip filmed by TMZ, James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo surround a Gelson’s deli meat counter flanked by a speaker inside a shopping cart blaring “Enter Sandman.” As they smile and headbang along with others in the gathering crowd, the band gives props to the beaming deli man behind the counter who happily takes the vocal lead with Metallica‘s encouragement. Billy on the Street‘s Billy Eichner is also on-hand with a mic to capture the man’s singing.
The group made another fan’s day on Wednesday. During their appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where they performed “Atlas, Rise!” and “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” they also played a game called “Who Knows Metallica” with a superfan named Dave. Dave went up against Metallica to see who knows more about the group. If Dave won, he would receive a signed guitar, but if the band won, they would receive Dave’s wallet. See who was declared the victor below.
