Watch Nicole Kidman Recall Second Failed Date With Jimmy Fallon
Nicole Kidman‘s first Tonight Show visit went viral when the actress told Jimmy Fallon about the time he unknowingly rejected her flirtatious advances during a meeting years ago at his apartment. On Thursday, she revealed more to the story, about a second failed romantic encounter with Fallon.
“We were at David Fincher’s house,” Kidman said. “I think it was David’s house, and it was when Brad [Pitt] and Jen [Aniston] were still together, so it was a long time ago. And you could have asked for my number then because it was round two – well, second chance. And you still didn’t ask for it. And you know that’s true, so do not pretend.
“My agent had said, ‘Jimmy’s gonna be there,’ and you’ll see – he can ask for your number,” she continued. “It may kind of happen this way … We were kind of lurking in the kitchen. Everyone went out, and I’m waiting and waiting and waiting. And you’re at the buffet, and this is so true and you know it. And you still didn’t ask for my number, so you were so not interested.”
Kidman playfully admitted she “didn’t want to come back” to The Tonight Show, adding, “I’m in a new movie, Lions. That’s why I’m here.” But a giddy Fallon couldn’t help alluding to their now-infamous encounter. “The past is the past – let’s leave it that way,” Fallon said. “You’ve moved on; I’ve moved on. I’m over it.”
The host attempted to ask about Kidman’s Thanksgiving plans, but – in a nod to Wayne’s World – he slipped into a romantic reverie, soundtracked by Gary Wright’s 1975 soft-rock smash “Dream Weaver.” Kidman brought out her husband, country star Keith Urban, who serenaded the duo with the “Dream Weaver” chorus.
“I get it,” Fallon said, as Kidman took a seat on Urban’s lap.
