Guns N’ Roses Hint at 2017 Tour With Video Teaser
Guns N’ Roses fans had reason to be thankful this year as 2016 witnessed the previously unfathomable reunion of Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan for the extensive Not in This Lifetime tour. On Saturday, GN’R hinted that their reunion trek would stretch into 2017 in a teaser video posted on the band’s social media accounts.
“The Machine Is Back at It in 2017,” the video promises during a montage of footage from Guns N’ Roses’ Not in This Lifetime tour. The band also coined the hashtag #GnFnR2017 to mark the impending arrival of 2017 dates.
No other details regarding Guns N’ Roses’ North America tour have been revealed, but as Ultimate Classic Rock notes, billboards trumpeting the 2017 tour have emerged in cities like Montreal, which wasn’t the recipient of a Not in This Lifetime tour date.
The North American leg of GN’R’s Not in This Lifetime tour kicked off April with a series of warm-up and Coachella gigs and circled the United States before concluding August 22nd in San Diego. The band’s trek through South America and Mexico ends November 30th in Mexico City.
In January through March, the band’s world tour jumps from Australia and New Zealand to Southeast Asia (Japan, Singapore, Thailand) to a March 3rd concert in Dubai, currently the final gig on the reunited band’s itinerary.
In a rare interview in September, Rose said he would also be open to performing more gigs with AC/DC while still piloting Guns N’ Roses. “I’ll do that as long as Angus [Young] wants to do it and as long as we can make it work. Guns is really supportive about it. I love that it’s my job. I love that Angus is my boss,” Rose said. “And singing the early Brian [Johnson] songs — the first couple of albums with Brian — those are something else to sing, so it’s physically a different animal and another kind of work. And I take pride in doing it.”
