Watch Rae Sremmurd’s Rump-Shaking ‘Shake It Fast’ Video With Juicy J
While Rae Sremmurd continue to rule the Hot 100 with “Black Beatles,” the Mississippi brothers have already unleashed the video for their next single “Shake It Fast,” featuring Juicy J.
As the song title suggests, the video features Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi hosting a pool party where there is a whole lot of rump-shaking going on as everyone dances to the SremmLife 2 banger.
Juicy J, who’s twice as old as the Rae Sremmurd duo, appears during the latter half as a chaperone for the all-out rager.
Although SremmLife 2 dropped in August, the album didn’t make a lasting impact until the LP’s “Black Beatles” became the official soundtrack to the viral Mannequin Challenge videos, with everyone from Hillary Clinton and LeBron James to Paul McCartney freezing for a moment in time. The single also received a boost following Nicki Minaj’s version of the track.
Rolling Stone recently talked with the duo’s Swae Lee about the surprise success of the song. “Our biggest hit prior to this song was ‘No Type.’ It went platinum or two times platinum. I don’t even know. A lot of people were like ‘Man, how they gonna top this? How they gonna top that?’ This is definitely the highest we’ve ever been on the charts,” the rapper said. “We broke into the pop world. We broke out of just the hip-hop world. And I think all those hits before this one just built our fans up for this bomb to drop, for ‘Black Beatles’ to drop when it did. Everybody was ready for it.”
