See Darius Rucker, Fiona Culley’s Soaring ‘Life on the Line’ Duet
Darius Rucker has teamed with British country singer Fiona Culley to record “Life on the Line,” the poignant theme song to the upcoming film of the same name. Written by Culley and Rucker with Tyler Cain and Meghan Linsey, the heartfelt ballad contrasts the dramatic action thriller and family drama starring John Travolta as Beau, a lineman who risks electrocution and other dangers in his line of work. A devoted uncle to Bailey, his niece played by Kate Bosworth, Travolta’s Beau is also haunted by the tragic death of his brother and challenged by trying to steer Bailey away from falling for a second-generation lineman played by Devon Sawa. Life on the Line takes place in a Texas town bracing for the impact of a deadly storm.
The film, which also stars Sharon Stone, Ryan Robbins, Julie Benz and Gil Bellows, opens on Friday, November 18th, in one theater each in 11 cities including Atlanta, Chicago and Los Angeles. (See the full list below). Life on the Line will also simultaneously be available nationwide via digital and VOD platforms.
Culley, who has been called the “Adele of country music” in her native land, is currently working on an EP with famed Nashville producer Paul Worley.
Meanwhile, Rucker recently released the sweet, yet self-effacing ballad “If I Told You So,” the first single from the Grammy-winning entertainer’s as-yet-untitled fifth studio album.
