Inside the Big Wins of the 50th CMA Awards: The Ram Report
Garth Brooks was named Entertainer of the Year at the 50th CMA Awards in Nashville. The annual show also recognized a number of rising artists, from Brothers Osborne, Vocal Duo of the Year winners, to New Artist victor Maren Morris.
Chris Stapleton repeated in the Male Vocalist category, with Carrie Underwood, who co-hosted the show with Brad Paisley, triumphed as Female Vocalist – her fourth win in the category.
In a secret that quickly spread throughout Nashville, Beyoncé joined the Dixie Chicks onstage to perform her “Daddy Lessons.” And the show opened with an all-star medley of hits by Charlie Daniels, Charley Pride, Alabama, Dwight Yoakam, Alan Jackson and more. Underwood’s contribution was particularly soaring: an amazing take on Tammy Wynette’s “Stand By Your Man.”
Today’s Ram Report captures all of the highlights, from the winners to the performers.
