Watch Chance the Rapper’s Wistful Cover of Drake’s ‘Feel No Ways’
Chance the Rapper turned Drake‘s “Feel No Ways” into an atmospheric slow jam during an appearance on BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Live Lounge.
While Donnie Trumpet and the Social Experiment captured the gooey synths and sultry piano plunks of the Views cut, they dropped the uptempo percussion and opened the song up for Chance, who delivered Drake‘s love-weary lyrics in a charming croak. Towards the end of the song however, Chance began to flub the lyrics, cheekily crooning “You don’t feel no way, on purpose/ I’m messing up all of Drake’s words on purpose,” but still deftly led the band through a flawless transition into the Donnie Trumpet cut, “Windows.”
During his Live Lounge appearance, Chance also spoke about Kanye West’s recent hospitalization while performing their Coloring Book collaboration, “All We Got.”
“I want to extend a very special prayer to my big brother, Kanye West,” he said. “I know there’s a lot of weird folks out there but you already know that I’m a hundred grand. I want to just extend this prayer and this love from all the way in Britain. We might come home early to see this man.”
Chance the Rapper has a string of U.K. dates scheduled for November, followed by shows in Australia and New Zealand in January, and a two-night stand in Honolulu, Hawaii January 7th and 8th.
