Hear Bryson Tiller’s Remorseful Slow Jam ‘Let Me Explain’
One year after Bryson Tiller released his breakthrough LP Trapsoul – and just two years after the Louisville R&B singer was working full-time at Papa John’s – Tiller has dropped a new track titled “Let Me Explain,” his first song since the arrival of his platinum-selling debut album in October 2015.
“I’m barely getting started / I’m being cautious / Girl that’s the hardest / All we been through, look what we’ve been through,” Tiller sings on the remorseful Phonix-produced slow jam. “Look at Jay and Bey, they going through some shit too.”
“Let Me Explain” comes a week after Tiller teased fans on Instagram about the follow-up to his debut LP. “Trapsoul is a year old now. Thank you for bringing me this far; be back soon with another one. love y’all,” the 23-year-old singer wrote.
“Let Me Explain” also earned the distinction of being Zane Lowe’s Today’s World Record on Beats 1 radio Thursday. As Tiller told Rolling Stone, Apple Music has played a large role in helping to jettison the R&B singer to platinum status. “I remember someone told me that they wanted to work with four artists, or something like that, and I was one of them,” Tiller said in February of Apple Music’s involvement. “That made me feel good.”
