Watch Darius Rucker’s Suave ‘If I Told You’ Video
Few artists do suave as well as Darius Rucker. For the new video for his latest single “If I Told You,” the singer suits up, cutting a sharp figure as he cruises through the streets of L.A. in the back of a town car. His destination: the famous Capitol Records building.
Rucker emerges and strides into the studio, losing his jacket to evoke the rakish style of Sinatra. All the while, images of Rucker at the mic and on the rooftop are juxtaposed with shots of a woman near the ocean and in those same city streets. She’s not the one that got away just yet – rather, she’s the one he hopes he has a chance with. Even after admitting all his flaws and failures. “If I told you all the stupid things I’ve done I’d blamed on being young / But I was old enough to know, I know … Could you look the other way cause you love me anyway?” Rucker sings in the honest and self-deprecating ballad.
“If I Told You” is the first single from Rucker’s as-yet-untitled fifth studio album. The CMA Award-winning artist recently appeared in the CMA’s all-star “Forever Country” single and its viral video.
