Taylor Swift to Headline Pre-Super Bowl Concert
Taylor Swift will headline DirecTV’s 12th annual pre-Super Bowl blowout, Super Saturday Night, February 4th in Houston, Texas.
The show will take place at a 64,000-square-foot venue custom-made for the concert, though exact details have yet to be announced. Tickets will be available through a series of promotions and campaigns from AT&T (which acquired DirecTV in 2015).
The announcement of Swift’s Super Saturday Night concert arrives alongside news that the pop star has inked an exclusive, multi-year, multi-faceted deal with AT&T. The partnership will include performances like the Super Saturday Night show, as well as other content. A rep for Swift did not immediately respond to a request on what future aspects of the deal will entail.
This February, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Run-D.M.C. performed at the concert the day before Super Bowl 50, while last year’s show featured Rihanna and Kanye West. Other past performers include Jay Z and Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake and Katy Perry. For Swift, Super Saturday Night will be her first major concert since wrapping her massive 1989 world tour in December 2015.
Super Bowl 51 will take place February 5th at Houston’s NRG Stadium. Lady Gaga will headline the halftime show.
