See Florida Georgia Line, Backstreet Boys’ Surprise Nashville Throwdown
Florida Georgia Line‘s Dig Your Roots tour landed in their adopted hometown of Nashville on October 13th and the duo had several surprises in store for the audience at Bridgestone Arena. One of the evening’s biggest was the tour debut of the Dig Your Roots track “God, Your Mama and Me,” featuring their collaborators the Backstreet Boys.
Prior to this performance, Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard were singing from a B-stage across the arena floor and began discussing their long obsession with the Backstreet Boys. That set up a performance of “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” and the reveal of the beloved boy band back on the main stage, a feat they previously pulled off at the iHeartRadio Music Festival last month. Backstreet hung around for “God, Your Mama and Me,” a sensitive ballad about devotion, with Tyler Hubbard and Nick Carter sharing vocal duties on the verses and the gang adding layered harmonies to the soaring choruses.
Hubbard and Kelley had further surprises in store, including an energetic appearance by Jake Owen on “Sun Daze” and a set-closing romp through “Cruise” with Nelly. Tonight the Dig Your Roots tour heads on to the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana, followed by an October 15th show at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
