‘Rogue One’: Watch Rebellion Ignite in Thrilling New ‘Star Wars’ Movie Trailer
Jyn Erso’s political rebellion turns personal in the gripping new trailer for the first Star Wars stand-alone film, Rogue One.
The clip opens with a young Jyn watching Imperial forces confront her father, Galen Erso, who promises her what he’s doing is to protect her. The trailer then jumps years into the future and Jyn wakes up in a prison cell. Luckily, a cadre of Alliance soldiers swing by to bust her out, and soon Jyn learns that her father was taken to help the Empire build their super weapon, the Death Star.
“If my father built this thing, we need to find him,” Jyn says, initiating the roll call for the rag tag group of misfits that sets out to find Galen. The rest of the trailer blends an array of thrilling battle sequences, tension building one-liners and even a cheeky, but exciting that’s-the-name-of-the-movie moment when the crew decides their call sign: “Rogue One.”
Rogue One stars Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso and Mads Mikkelsen as Galen. The movie also features Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelsohn, Alan Tudyk, Warwick Davis, Forest Whitaker and Diego Luna. Rogue One was directed by Gareth Edwards and is slated to open December 16th.
