Watch Only Vice Presidential Debate Between Mike Pence, Tim Kaine
The first and only vice presidential debate takes place Tuesday night, October 4th, at Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia. It’s the state Senator Tim Kaine, Hillary Clinton’s running mate, has served as both senator and governor. He faces off against Indiana Governor Mike Pence, Donald Trump’s running mate. The debate will be moderated by CBS News anchor Elaine Quijano – the first Asian-American moderator of a presidential or vice presidential debate – and begins at 9 p.m. ET. It lasts for 90 minutes and there will be no commercial breaks.
The veep debate can be watched on any major cable and broadcast network, including CNN, Fox News, ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC and C-SPAN. Twitter and Facebook Live will carry live streams as well as various news networks’ live broadcasts. YouTube will also have live streams from many organizations, including PBS, the Washington Post and Telemundo.
Typically the vice presidential debates receive less attention and scrutiny than the main event presidential debates, but after the drama of the first debate between Trump and Clinton that took place September 26th, there will surely be many questions that followup on some of the hot-button issues. But Kaine and Pence are seen as laid-back politicians, with some joking that their opinions of “dad rock” favorites would be more interesting than policy discussions, so they will most likely “punch upward,” taking aim at their opponent’s running mate’s track record.
The next debate between Trump and Clinton is scheduled for Sunday, October 9th, at 9 p.m. This town-hall style debate will take place at Washington University in St. Louis and will feature questions from a studio audience and from CNN’s Anderson Cooper and ABC’s Martha Raddatz, who will serve as co-moderators.
