Watch Jimmy Kimmel Tour Springfield With Homer Simpson
Ahead of the historic 600th episode of The Simpsons, Jimmy Kimmel took an impromptu time out from hosting his late-night show Thursday to visit Springfield.
“Be funnier, TV!” a frustrated Homer Simpson says while watching Jimmy Kimmel Live. “I wanna see singing in a car, that’s all anyone wants to see.”
Homer continues to kick his television set, which somehow thrusts Kimmel into The Simpsons‘ world, turning the host from flesh-and-bone to yellow-skinned and four-fingered.
On their brief tour of the animated city, Simpson showed Kimmel the on-the-brink-of-a-meltdown nuclear power plant he works at, Bart’s school (complete with chalkboard gag: “I will not make celebrities read mean tweets”) and Homer’s favorite watering hole Moe’s. “It’s even more depressing than I imagined,” Kimmel says.
Homer also introduced Kimmel to his undying father and ageless daughter Maggie. Before departing back to reality, Kimmel told Homer, “If you ever need me, I’ll always be in there,” motioning towards the television set from which he arrived.
“Mmm, TV. A beautiful distraction from the certainty of death,” Homer said. “Goodbye, one of the Jimmys.”
The Simpsons‘ 600th episode, “Treehouse of Horror XXVII,” airs Sunday. In November, FXX will kick off their 600-episode Thanksgiving marathon of The Simpsons.
