Watch Corey Feldman’s Bizarre ‘Today Show’ Interview, Odder Performance
Corey Feldman dressed up like a grim-reaping matador while besieged by a band of women in angel costumes for the former child actor’s bizarre, instantly viral Today Show appearance Friday.
Feldman visited the Today Show to promote his new album Angelic 2 the Core, a decade-in-the-making double-LP dedicated to his late friends Michael Jackson and Corey Haim. What followed was an off-the-wall five-minute segment where the actor discussed his potentially dubious charitable organization — the website for Corey’s Angels no longer works and the organization’s Twitter feed that previously advertised “sexy” appearances at the “Feldmansion” hasn’t posted since 2013 — before delivering spasmodic dance moves during a performance of his single “Go 4 It.”
“The whole theme of the album is good versus evil, heaven versus hell, that sort of thing,” Feldman said of Angelic 2 the Core. “If you look closely at the artwork on the album, you’ll see that it’s me trying to crawl out of the fiery pit and it’s the angels pulling me out. It kind of all goes along with the concept.”
The concept extended to Feldman’s backing band: a quartet of women with halos and angel wings. “Angels probably saved me once or twice in my life, and I like helping them as well,” Feldman added of his costumed band. “That’s why I created Corey’s Angels as a way to help girls who were like lost and needed to find their way to get their opportunities, their dreams and make them realities. And that’s what we do, we try to help them make their realities their dreams.”
The actor then performed “Go 4 It,” an enthusiastic EDM track that gave Feldman license to go berserk with the dance moves. Whodini rapper Doc Ice, much to the delight of Today host Billy Bush, also made a surprise appearance during the performance. “Watch Feldman twerk,” Doc Ice rapped during the performance. “Get it, get it.”
Feldman previously released a music video for “Go 4 It,” featuring Snoop Dogg in place of Doc Ice, where the actor’s King of Pop mimicking dance moves are more defined:
Snoop isn’t the only big name talent that Feldman managed to lure onto Angelic 2 the Core: Kurupt and Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst are also listed as collaborators. For more insanity regarding Angelic 2 the Core, check out Feldman’s website.
