Watch Amy Lee’s Charming Video From Upcoming Children’s Album
Evanescence singer Amy Lee has released a fetching video for “Dream Too Much,” the title track of her upcoming children’s album.
The clip fittingly uses construction paper-style animation to bring life to Lee’s magical lyrics about grapes raining from the sky, flying sandwiches and jellyfish building watermelon towers. While “Dream Too Much” bares all the instrumental hallmarks of classic children’s music — from ukulele and chimes to ramshackle percussion — Lee’s vocals remain as epic and inspirational as her rock output.
Lee will release Dream Too Much as an Amazon Music exclusive on September 30th. The 12-track record was inspired by her two-year-old son Jack, but also served as a present to her dad, who constantly played music around the house when she was younger. The recording sessions included a variety of family members, with Lee’s dad playing ukulele, dobro and banjo, her sisters contributing vocals and her uncle playing guitar, bass and harmonica.
“We’ve been saying, even if we’re the only ones who ever heard it … it was worth it because it means so much to us as a family and we love it,” Lee told Rolling Stone. “I’m always looking for ways that I can expand myself creatively and this was a surprise. This kind of came out of a very random place and a very pure place. It was just for ourselves and it turned into something really beautiful.”
