DNCE Announce Self-Titled Debut Album
DNCE have announced their self-titled debut album. DNCE will be released on November 18th and follows up their 2015 debut EP SWAAY.
After forming last summer, the funk-pop band debuted in the fall with their hit single “Cake By the Ocean” following a brief residency in New York City where fans were able to see the band live for the first time. The group is Joe Jonas‘ first project following the Jonas Brothers’ break-up in 2013. In support of their EP, the band did a headlining club tour and joined the Jingle Ball line-up around the holiday season. This summer, they opened up for Selena Gomez on her Revival world tour.
The band also includes bassist Cole Whittle of Semi-Precious Weapons, guitarist JinJoo who has toured with Demi Lovato and Charli XCX and drummer Jack Lawless, who had formerly been a part of the Jonas Brothers’ touring band. The group appeared as the prom band Johnny Casino and the Gamblers in Grease: Live and took home the Best New Artist award at the MTV Video Music Awards last month.
“It’s tough for artists to get second chances in the music industry these days, and the fact that I get to do it with these guys who love music and are passionate and have a great time onstage is a dream come true,” Jonas told Rolling Stone last year ahead of their EP release. “Getting a chance to come at it like a new artist and a new band is incredible.”
