Watch Amy Lee’s Dreamy ‘If You’re a Star’ Animated Video
Evanescence singer Amy Lee released a dreamy new video for “If You’re a Star,” a track from her just-released children’s album Dream Too Much.
Playing off counting sheep, the animated video follows a wayward sheep’s journey as it encounters dancing stars, elephant flies and other creatures of the night as the sheep looks to rejoin its pack. “The video is meant to illustrate that we’re never alone, that we’re not so different, all across the world,” Lee said of the video in a statement to Entertainment Weekly. “All you have to do is look up to remember that we are all under the same very big sky, maybe even wishing on the same star.”
Dream Too Much, an Amazon Music Original, is out now; the singer previously shared the video for the album’s title track. As Rolling Stone previously reported, the 12-track record – which features originals, beloved lullabies and a cover of the Beatles’ “Hello Goodbye” – was inspired by her two-year-old son Jack as well as Lee’s father.
“We’ve been saying, even if we’re the only ones who ever heard it … it was worth it because it means so much to us as a family and we love it,” Lee told Rolling Stone. “I’m always looking for ways that I can expand myself creatively and this was a surprise. This kind of came out of a very random place and a very pure place. It was just for ourselves and it turned into something really beautiful.”
