See Amon Amarth Raise Horns With All-Star Fans and Friends in New Video
Earlier this year, Swedish “Viking metal” stalwarts Amon Amarth released Jomsviking, their 10th full-length album and the first proper concept record of their 24-year-long career. In June, Rolling Stone named it one of the Best Metal Albums of 2016 So Far, noting the LP’s battalion of “Odin-sized fight songs.”
Today Amon Amarth has premiered the all-star music video for the fifth track off the album, “Raise Your Horns,” which features cameos from figures across metal, sports, television and horror cinema, who are all seen, fittingly, raising their horns. King Diamond, Zakk Wylde and Dave Mustaine appear alongside members of Slayer, Disturbed, Machine Head, Behemoth and many other bands, while Olympic swimmer Paul Biedermann, NHL goalie Mike McKenna and MMA fighter Shayna Baszler, among other athletes, make appearances, as do actress Jessica Pimentel of Orange Is the New Black fame and Hatchet director Adam Green.
Continuing their worldwide tour in support of Jomsviking, Amon Amarth will hit the road on September 20th with Megadeth, Suicidal Tendencies, Metal Church and Butcher Babies, kicking off the bands’ U.S. tour together. On September 25th, Amon Amarth will appear at Slipknot’s annual Knotfest in San Bernardino, California.
