Watch New ‘Westworld’ Trailer Where Machines Massacre Mankind
The second teaser for HBO‘s highly anticipated sci-fi series Westworld is out, despite an otherwise clunky rollout. After the first trailer aired last year, production was briefly shut down in order to retool the show’s scripts. For now, it seems that the remake of Michael Crichton’s 1973 classic is back on track for its October 2nd release date.
The latest trailer focuses on the character played by Evan Rachel Wood, a pleasure-giving android struggling to reconcile the fact that she isn’t really human. The trailer also focuses on Anthony Hopkins’ Dr. Robert Ford, the architect of the titular world. “You’re in my dream. I designed every part of this place,” Ford tells Wood’s Dolores. “Not a theme park, but an entire world.”
After previous Westworld trailers provided only glimpses at the infamous Gunslinger – played by Yul Brynner in the film and Ed Harris in the TV show – the latest preview unleashes a long look at the series’ main antagonist and hints at the bloody carnage the “Man in Black” usually leaves in his wake.
