Blood Orange to Perform ‘Freetown Sound’ Album in Full on Tidal
Dev Hynes, aka Blood Orange, is teaming up with Tidal to livestream one of his upcoming performances in Los Angeles next week. It’s touted to be the first full performance of his third full-length album under his Blood Orange moniker, Freetown Sound. The show will be broadcast from the Theatre at the Ace Hotel during the first of his Welcome to Freetown tour dates.
As Hynes revealed on Twitter, the performance should encompass the entirety of his new album. “I will be performing my album, Freetown Sound, in full for the 1st time in LA,” he tweeted.
While Hynes surprise released Freetown Sound digitally in late June, a few days prior to the album’s previously announced July 1st drop date, the CD and vinyl editions of the album will be available on August 19th via Domino. The double LP deluxe version includes a bonus 10-inch housing two additional non-album tracks, “Do You See My Skin Through the Flames” and “Sandra’s Smile,” as well as a double-sided poster.
The Tidal livestream will air on August 24th and begins at 9:30 p.m. PT/12:30 a.m. ET. Both subscribers and non-subscribers alike will be able to access and tune into the livestream.
