Watch LeBron James Join Drake Onstage at Columbus Concert
A day after LeBron James signed a three-year, $100 million deal to remain with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the NBA Finals MVP traveled down to Ohio’s capital Columbus, where Drake‘s Summer Sixteen tour stopped Saturday, to join the rapper onstage.
“Ohio, if you don’t make some noise for ‘the King’ right now you’re out of your mind,” Drake said to the rapturous crowd as he introduced James. “Now we gotta do it for old time’s sake.”
James appeared onstage at the Nationwide Arena for “Pop Style,” with “the King” dancing along to the Views track and helping out Drake on the chorus. Drake also switched up the song’s lyrics to reflect the all-star’s presence. “Bronny, Bronny had to handle that one his way,” Drake rapped.
“Yo one time, Columbus Ohio, give it up for Drizzy motherfucking Drake,” James said after “Pop Style” to hype up the crowd. “And one more time for my brother Future who killed this shit tonight.”
Drake then said, “And one more time, for the man who came back home and brought a motherfucking championship instead of doing anything different. Make some noise for the King, LeBron James is here tonight. It’s love, man. That’s a hometown hero right there.”
James then left the stage and walked through the crowd as they chanted “MVP! MVP!”
