See Dawes’ Boozy, Slo-Mo ‘When the Tequila Runs Out’ Video
Dawes have released the lively video for “When the Tequila Runs Out,” a track from the roots rock outfit’s forthcoming album We’re All Gonna Die. Due September 16th, We’re All Gonne Die is Dawes’ fifth full-length album and third released independently on their own Hub Records.
With its stunning high-definition, slow motion camera work under direction of Kevin Hayes, the video for “When the Tequila Runs Out” exaggerates the alcohol-aided time lag of a debauched house party. “When the tequila runs out, we’ll be drinking champagne,” sings Taylor Goldsmith in the blissful chorus hook, describing an all-nighter for the ages. And so these carousing party guests do, messily pouring the bubbly stuff in red plastic cups or drinking straight from the bottle while they dance and carry on. If nothing else, the video makes one thing clear: everything looks much cooler in slow motion.
We’re All Gonna Die follows Dawes’ acclaimed All Your Favorite Bands, the sweetly affecting title track for which landed on Rolling Stone’s list of 50 Best Songs of 2015. Guests on We’re All Gonna Die include the Alabama Shakes’ Brittany Howard, My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, Lucius’ Holly Laessig and Jess Wolfe, Mandy Moore and Will Oldham.
Here’s the We’re All Gonna Die track list:
“One of Us”

“Picture of a Man”
