See Jay Pharoah Cover Justin Bieber’s ‘Where Are U Now’
On Sunday, August 28th, comedians will test out their musical chops at the Goddamn Comedy Jam on Comedy Central, a new show that finds comics doing stand-up routines before covering their favorite song with a live band. For Jay Pharoah’s time onstage, the former Saturday Night Live star performed a passionate cover of Justin Bieber and Jack Ü’s massive hit “Where Are Ü Now,” seen above.
Pharoah’s performance with the special’s live band took place after a short stand-up routine. As he began to sing, the comedian took off his white bomber jacket and sang a subtle take on the first verse before imitating the song’s unmistakeable screeching beat with his own voice.
Other comedians featured in the special include Pharoah’s SNL co-star Pete Davidson, Adam Devine, Jim Jefferies and Natasha Leggero. Some of the live performances have the comedians’ stage being crashed by a famous musician that joins them in their performance with the Comedy Jam Band.
Goddamn Comedy Jam premieres Sunday at 11:30 ET/PT.
