Dolly Parton Reveals Jennifer Nettles’ Christmas Album: The Ram Report
Jennifer Nettles has hosted the CMA Country Christmas special on ABC since 2010, so it’s about time that she finally made a holiday record of her own. She confirmed the news via Twitter, posting, “I am doing a Christmas album! And I love that @Dollyparton is sharing the love!!”
Parton not only shared the love, she actually broke the news. During a recent Facebook Live chat for her new album, Pure & Simple, the country legend announced that she’ll be recording a song called “Circle of Love” for her 2017 Christmas album and that Nettles planned to have it on her own holiday set, coming out this year.
The song will be featured in the upcoming movie, Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love, a sequel to last year’s wildly successful Coat of Many Colors NBC TV movie, which starred Nettles as Parton’s mother. Nettles will reprise her role in the new film, set to air November 30th. Parton has a small role in the movie, as the town prostitute — the real-life woman after whom she modeled her look.
While this will be Nettles’ first Christmas album as a solo artist, her duo Sugarland released a holiday album, Gold and Green, in 2009. Last year, she appeared on Kenny Rogers’ Once Again It’s Christmas, duetting with the bearded superstar on “Here It Is Christmas/Baby, It’s Cold Outside.” Nettles’ most recent album, Playing With Fire, came out in May on Big Machine Records.
