Stapleton, Maren Morris, Eric Church Lead 2016 CMA Awards Nominations
The nominations for the 50th annual CMA Awards have been announced and a new artist joins two of country music’s rebels atop the heap. Maren Morris, who released her debut album Hero in June, and last year’s big winner Chris Stapleton, along with Eric Church, are all tied for five nominations.
Dierks Bentley, Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban are close behind with four nominations each.
For Underwood, it marks her first-ever appearance in the Entertainer of the Year category. The field for the night’s most coveted trophy also features first-time Entertainer nominee Stapleton, 2005 Entertainer of the Year Keith Urban, four-time winner Garth Brooks and reigning Entertainer of the Year Luke Bryan.
The 50th annual CMA Awards will air live from Nashville on Wednesday, November 2nd, on ABC.
