Puff Daddy Delays Bad Boy Tour Due to Shoulder Surgery
Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs has delayed his Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour by one week in order to recover from shoulder surgery. The rapper-mogul announced Friday that the all-star trek will kick off September 1st in Chicago, rather than its previously scheduled launch of August 25th in Columbus, Ohio, The Associated Press reports.
The Family Reunion Tour will feature Combs performing alongside Lil’ Kim, Mase, Faith Evans, French Montana, the Lox, 112, Mario Winans, Total and Carl Thomas. A spokesperson for Combs told AP that the delay will allow the Bad Boy founder “the much needed time he needs in order to recover and give fans the incredible stage experience they have come to expect from a Puff Daddy production.”
Puff Daddy first celebrated Bad Boy Records’ 20th anniversary at the 2015 BET Awards with a 20-minute medley featuring a dozen label signees from the past two decades. Combs then organized two reunion shows at the Barclays Center in May.
Upon the previous tour announcement, the dates stretched through September and concluded October 8th in Oakland, California. “This isn’t just a concert – this is a moment in hip hop and R&B history,” Combs said in a statement at that time.
Last week, Combs released the Bad Boy 20th Anniversary box set, an 80-track compilation set spanning the label’s 20-year legacy with tracks from Puff Daddy, the Notorious B.I.G., Janelle Monae and more.
Combs released the Family-featuring mixtape MMM (or Money Making Mitch) last year. In March, the group unveiled the video for single “You Could Be My Lover,” which features a warped fairy tale story.
