Lil Wayne Cuts Short Weed-Themed California Concert After 10 Minutes
Lil Wayne abruptly exited his performance Saturday night at the Medical Cannabis Concentrates Cup, leaving the stage just 10 minutes into his scheduled hour-long set at San Bernardino, California’s NOS Center.
Wayne performed four songs, including his verses from French Montana’s “Pop That” and Gucci Mane’s “We Be Steady Mobbin’,” before the rapper looked at the side of the stage and sang, “Don’t you ever call me to do this shit again. Don’t you, ever, ever, ever, ask me to do this shit again.” Midway through the next song, Wayne marched offstage and didn’t return, XXL reports.
In a statement, High Times, who hosts the event, said of Wayne’s unexpected early departure in a statement, “We have no idea why, after a stellar performance by B.o.B, Lil Wayne suddenly ended his performance after just four songs when he was contractually committed to performing for an hour for the fans. We are truly baffled by why Lil Wayne would do this in front of thousands of Cannabis Cup attendees – in total disregard for his fans – and are awaiting an explanation from his team.”
Lil Wayne has not commented on the abrupt exit on social media, but fans have been voicing their disappointment regarding the rapper’s set in the comments of Wayne’s Instagram post promoting the event.
