Rae Sremmurd Pour Champagne on Aliens in ‘Set the Roof’ Video
“We set the roof on fire, then we flood it out,” Rae Sremmurd boast on their latest single. “We just threw the money up, we ain’t even count.” In Grant Singer’s clip “Set the Roof,” featuring Lil Jon, the rappers bring that hedonistic lyric to life, partying at a spa filled with twerking, champagne, cash-spraying machines, snakes and – in a surreal touch – an alien.
“Set the Roof,” co-produced by Mike WiLL Made-It and DJ Mustard, is included on Rae Sremmurd‘s second LP, SremmLife2, out Friday, August 12th. The album follows the Brown brothers’ 2015 debut, SremmLife.
In June, the group released their clip for “Look Alive,” which found the duo flexing at a nightclub. That track was also produced by Mike WiLL Made-It, who helmed the group’s breakout singles “No Flex Zone” and “No Type.”
Last year, Mike WiLL Made-It enthused to Rolling Stone about Rae Sremmurd’s wide appeal. “Their energy is so good and their character is so tight that they can crossover into popular culture easily,” he said. “I look at them like a hood ‘NSync. It’s like pop, but it’s pop in its ratchet-est form.”
