Watch Britney Spears’ Steamy ‘Make Me’ Video
A day after Britney Spears dropped her new Glory track “Private Show,” the pop singer unveiled her music video for the album’s first single “Make Me.”
The “Make Me” video offers a lighthearted, fictionalized look at the audition process to cast Spears’ on-screen paramour in the “Make Me” video. When Spears and her posse aren’t giggling through auditions, the singer is performing her track in a brightly lit hallway. G-Eazy also appears to deliver his featured verse via hi-def monitor. The video concludes with Spears screen-testing her would-be costars in a series of steamy sequences.
However, according to Vulture, Spears fans have already started a petition demanding that the singer’s label RCA release the original Dave LaChapelle-directed “Make Me” video; that version, which leaked in low-quality form in early July, was withdrawn by RCA, which stated the video “is not a suitable representation of the song.” After undergoing reshoots, the final version of “Make Me” arrived Friday.
After announcing her new LP, Spears’ first since 2013’s Britney Jean, the singer called into On Air With Ryan Seacrest Friday morning to discuss Glory.
“It took a lot of time but I think we brought it to a level where I was really, really happy with what I had,” Spears told Seacrest of the album. “It’s cool, it’s really different. I think this is probably the most hip-hop album. Not most – there are like two or three songs that go in the direction of more urban that I’ve wanted to do for a long time now, and I just haven’t really done that… It’s a really good record, and I’m very, very proud of it.”
Glory is out August 26th as an Apple Music exclusive.
