Ozzy Osbourne Enters ‘Intense Therapy’ for Sex Addiction
Ozzy Osbourne has revealed he is undergoing “intense therapy” for a sex addiction that nearly resulted in the disintegration of his marriage to wife Sharon.
“Over the last six years, I have been dealing with a sex addiction,” Osbourne said in a statement. “I am mortified at what my behavior has done to my family. I thank God that my incredible wife Sharon is at my side to support me.”
In recent months, Osbourne had been rumored to be involved in an extramarital relationship with hair stylist Michelle Pugh; People writes that the affair lasted four years. In May, Ozzy Osbourne moved out of the family’s marital home, signaling an end to his and Sharon’s 34-year-old marriage.
Following rumors that the Black Sabbath singer’s split was the result of a relapse, Osbourne said in a statement, “I have been sober for three and a quarter years. I have not touched drugs or alcohol in that time. Any reports that I am not sober are completely inaccurate.” Sharon Osbourne herself addressed the rumors surrounding her marriage on her TV show The Talk.
While Osbourne downplayed his relationship with Pugh as a result of his sex addiction, Pugh called Osbourne, “the greatest love of my life.”
“I’m sorry if Ms. Pugh took our sexual relationship out of context,” the singer rebutted in the new statement. “I’d also like to apologize to the other women I have been having sexual relationships with. Out of the bad comes good. Since the press exposed this, I have gone into intense therapy.”
