See Margo Price’s Rousing ‘A Little Pain’ on ‘Colbert’
Margo Price channeled the great soul divas of the past on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Tuesday night, owning the stage in a glittering mini dress as she delivered an energized rendition of her 2017 single “A Little Pain.”
Backed by her full band plus a four-piece string ensemble, Price looked supremely confident in her twin roles of band leader and front woman, stalking the stage while singing a note-perfect tribute to the blood, sweat and tears behind her climb to country success. She even ventured out into the crowd for the song’s final chorus, with the band mixing orchestral pop and twangy roots in the background. As a web-only bonus, Price also performed “All American Made,” which you can watch below.
“A Little Pain” comes off Price’s standout second solo album All American Made, which was recently named the best country and Americana album of 2017 by Rolling Stone Country and followed the Top 10 chart debut of Midwestern Farmer’s Daughter in 2016. This spring Price will mark another career milestone with her first headlining shows at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium – commonly known as the mother church of country music. She’ll take the stage on May 19th, 20th and 23rd. Her next headlining tour launches January 20th in Louisville, Kentucky.
