See Kane Brown Sing Valentine’s Day Ready ‘Heaven’ on ‘Kimmel’
Kane Brown delivered a double dose of his romantic hits on Monday night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, performing “Heaven” and “What Ifs” as he showed off two very different sides of his heart.
Greeting an outdoor, West Coast crowd with swagger in gleaming white sneakers and an oversized jacket, Brown’s rumbling baritone kicked things off on the laid-back “Heaven,” his current single and second consecutive Top 10 on Billboard‘s Country Airplay radio chart. Written by Shy Carter, Matthew McGinn and Lindsay Rimes, the R&B-inflected track features gentle lyrics all about finding paradise on earth.
But while “Heaven” showed off his tender side, “What Ifs” briefly depicted Brown as a growling hard rocker. Backed by pounding drums and careening guitars, his bottomless vocal suddenly felt more determined – only to brighten as the hopeful, meant-to-be anthem picked up steam. “What Ifs” was originally sung as a duet with Lauren Alaina and became Brown’s first Number One song in 2017.
Both tracks appear on the deluxe edition of Brown’s self-titled debut album. The Georgia native is currently on the road with Chris Young and Lanco as part of Young’s Losing Sleep Tour, and will perform at festivals like Stagecoach, CountryFest and the Kicker Country Stampede this summer.
