See Thirty Seconds to Mars Unveil New Footage of Explosive ‘Colbert’ Set
Last Thursday, Thirty Seconds to Mars premiered their new single, “Dangerous Night,” on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert using an advanced robotic camera that moved with the beat of the thumping song and captured the band in striking, cinematic angles. The Jared Leto-led outfit released a behind-the-scenes clip that offers a different view of the performance and how it came together.
The new video highlights the BOLT robotic camera in action as it zips around the stage, capturing both Thirty Seconds to Mars and an interpretive dancer moving energetically to “Dangerous Night.” The clip also offers a more intimate look at the performance, including shots that would never make it to the TV broadcast, like when host Stephen Colbert can be seen off to the side at the 2:42 mark, air-drumming along with the song.
“Dangerous Night” follows Thirty Seconds to Mars’ 2017 single, “Walk on Water,” which was released last August. The group is expected to release a new album this year, though neither a title nor release date have yet to be announced. The LP would mark the group’s fifth and follow their 2013 effort, Love, Lust Faith and Dreams.
