See Trent Harmon’s Enamoring ‘There’s a Girl’ Video
Trent Harmon puts a high-speed silver lining on the cloud of a failed relationship with “There’s a Girl.”
The American Idol winner brings the autobiographical lyrics to his first country single to life in a new video premiering exclusively on Rolling Stone Country. The Roman White-directed clip shows the singer on a long road trip to see a girl — hopping off his tractor and using a bike, motorcycle, vintage car and a little hitchhiking charm to get there (and meeting a few other special girls along the way).
“‘There’s a Girl’ is my favorite song I’ve written to date,” shares Harmon, who penned the tune with Laura Veltz and Jimmy Robbins. “I came in with this almost sad story about how I actually drove hundreds of miles only to find out I’d lost my chance with her. We crafted a positive outcome because it’s truly crazy what a man will do when he’s in love.”
The single will be featured on Harmon’s debut album for Big Machine Label Group. Label head (and Idol mentor) Scott Borchetta describes its sound as Justin Timberlake-gone-country. Harmon adds that it’ll have a lot of soul, as he’s incorporating an eclectic mix of influences on the project.
