Chris Stapleton to Perform at Charlie Daniels’ Volunteer Jam
Incoming Country Music Hall of Famer Charlie Daniels turns 80 this October, and the country-rock icon will celebrate the milestone with another Volunteer Jam concert, bringing a lineup of crooners and comedians — including Chris Stapleton, Kid Rock, Larry the Cable Guy and more — to the Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville.
Scheduled for November 30th, the concert marks the 41st installment of the annual Volunteer Jam. The concert series launched in 1974, kicking off a tradition that’s seen performers like Ted Nugent, Don Henley, the Allman Brothers Band, Billy Joel, Alabama and a reunited Lynyrd Skynyrd all sharing the stage with Charlie Daniels Band. Stapleton, the headliner for the 2016 concert, makes his Volunteer Jam debut this year, heading up a performance that will donate a chunk of its profits to the Journey Home Project.
The 41st Volunteer Jam will help cap another busy year for Stapleton, whose performance at the 2015 CMA Awards last November helped catapult an already acclaimed career into the stratosphere. Since then, he’s taken home a pair of Grammys, sold over 1.4 million copies of his Traveller debut and spent 2016 playing some of America’s most sought-after gigs, including Saturday Night Live, Bonnaroo and the main stage at the CMA Festival. In the weeks leading up to the Volunteer Jam, he’ll also headline a pair of sold-out shows at Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater in October.
