Chris Young Preps First Christmas Album
Sporting a T-shirt that says, “Dear Santa, I can explain,” Chris Young announced today via a live Facebook chat that he is making his first Christmas album.
“This is something I’ve wanted to do for a really, really, really long time,” he said, “and I’m so glad RCA is letting me do it. Christmas is one of my favorite times of year. I have so many Christmas songs I wanna do, it was hard to narrow it down.”
There is no word yet on which holiday classics the singer will deliver in his Tennessee-bred baritone, nor on a title or release date for the project. Young is still working on the album and actually broadcasted his Facebook chat from a Nashville recording studio, where he and producer Corey Crowder (sporting a badass ugly Christmas sweater) are laying down tracks beside a tree and garland adorned with twinkling lights.
“This album has been 10 years in the making,” Young tweeted in one of his many hints to fans about the LP, before it was announced. The “Sober Saturday Night” singer just celebrated his 10-year anniversary with RCA Records.
