Hear DJ Khaled, Jay Z, Future’s New Hard-Hitting Song ‘I Got the Keys’
DJ Khaled released a new preview of his upcoming LP Major Key with a second single “I Got the Keys” featuring Jay Z and Future.
It may be Khaled’s song, but this is Jay Z’s show. The rapper fires off a pair of impassioned verses. “I ain’t been asleep since ’96/ I ain’t seen the back of my eyelids/ I been speeding through life with no safety belt/ One on one with the corner, no safety help,” the rapper spits over a swirling, tense beat courtesy of Southside, Jake One and G Coupe.
Future plays the role of hype man as he fires off the single’s chorus – on social media, Future has been hyping the track since May – while Khaled’s own contribution is reduced to occasional touts of aspiration. “I got the keys to all success,” Khaled chimes.
Although both Khaled and Future have aligned with Apple Music, the “I Got the Keys” video still premiered on Jay Z’s Tidal. The video features the three rappers – as well as cameos by Swizz Beatz, T.I., Pusha T, A$AP Ferg, Rick Ross and many more – staring down police in riot gear in a prison courtyard in the anxious moments before a confrontation.
