See Gronk Use James Corden as Target Practice
If you think Rob Gronkowski is an intimidating human being, imagine having to raise him and his four brothers (all of whom are basically the same size) in their early years.
Maybe that’s why the Gronk parents tried to keep things as simple as possible for themselves when their children were growing into their NFL bodies. While on The Late Late Show with James Corden last night, Rob revealed that him and his brothers got into fist fights on the daily. “It was the best time growing up ever,” said Gronk, “but there were brawls every day.” Rather than putting an end to it early, their parents decided to implement two simple rules, which can be best described by Corden as not hitting the money maker and baby maker.
“We had two rules in the house my parents created: No hitting in the face and no hitting in the gonads,” said Gronkowski. “So it was fair. We took shots everywhere. When I get tackled now, they’re like ‘Rob, how did you not feel that?’ I’m like, ‘Hey, I’ve been getting hit my whole life, since two years old.'”
So, with some help from Luke Wilson and Liev Schreiber, Gronk proceeded to play a game of target practice, which involved Corden being pelted in just about every body part imaginable with soft footballs. And not only did Corden get hit in the gonads at least a couple of times, Gronk launched a football at his face before time expired and bragged about it to his new cohorts.
Apparently rules are meant to be broken in the Gronkowski household, too.
