See Will Smith, Margot Robbie Relish Chaos in ‘Suicide Squad’ Trailer
The most devious, diabolical and snarky villains the DC Comics universe has to offer run rampant in the outrageous new trailer for Suicide Squad, which premiered Tuesday during the Dawn of the Justice League special on the CW, Variety reports.
The clip offers an explosive look at the antics of the motley crew, who are assembled to carry out a black-ops mission with the hope of getting clemency. The clip boasts a bevy of new footage, and the mélange of mayhem is expertly synched to Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
Much of the titular squad is introduced in the clip as well, with particular attention paid to Will Smith’s Deadshot, who receives more screen time than he did in the first trailer. Jared Leto’s Joker also offers some wicked one-liners, while Margot Robbie shines as the maniacal, yet chipper, Harley Quinn: “I should kill everyone and escape?” she asks herself, surrounded by a slew of military personnel. “Sorry, the voices — I’m kidding! That’s not what they really said.”
The cast of Suicide Squad also includes Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Jay Hernandez as Diablo and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller. Ben Affleck, who will play Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, will also appear as the Dark Knight in Suicide Squad.
Suicide Squad was directed by David Ayer (The Fast and the Furious, Fury) and is scheduled to open in August.
