Watch Brooding ‘Peaky Blinders’ Season Three Trailer
“There is hell, and there is another place below hell,” Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) intones in the brooding trailer for Peaky Blinders Season Three. The clip, filled with gunfire and fisticuffs, foreshadows new levels of evil for the protagonist gang leader.
Shelby enters the Roaring Twenties wildly rich, with his empire expanding. But on his wedding day, he’s approached by a shadowy secret organization and lured into an international arms deal that could alter history. Netflix promises a host of chilling new villains, including a “White Russian exile whose brutality knows no bounds, a priest with a killer dog, a beautiful Duchess even more manipulative than him and a powerful entity at the heart of the British establishment that will stop at nothing to accomplish its reactionary aims.”
Steven Knight’s epic gangster drama will return with six new episodes on May 31st. The season debuted earlier this month on BBC Two.
Rolling Stone included Season Two on our list of 10 TV Shows You Need to Be Watching in 2015. “Imagine Boardwalk Empire relocated to England and revamped as outright pulp instead of prestige TV, and you’d have something pretty close to Steven Knight’s historical gangster drama – the kind of semi-lurid pleasure that screams B picture instead of blockbuster,” we wrote.
