Watch Pink’s Brooding Cover of Jefferson Airplane’s ‘White Rabbit’
Pink brought her wide vocal range on Jimmy Kimmel Live! performing folky arena-pop single “Just Like Fire” and a faithful cover of Jefferson Airplane‘s psychedelic 1967 song “White Rabbit.” Both songs are featured in upcoming Disney film Alice Through the Looking Glass, which comes out May 27th.
Pink did justice to Grace Slick’s watery contralto on “White Rabbit.” Performing in front of a trippy looking glass backdrop, she nailed the song’s subtle Eastern accents, as wah-wah and Latin drum rolls built to a thunderous climax.
“Just Like Fire” is a return to Pink’s stadium-friendly side. The track was produced by the singer’s longtime collaborators Max Martin and Shellback, who co-helmed her 2008 smash “So What.” Pink released the song’s mind-bending video, which finds Pink walking through a mirror and showing off her well-known acrobatics.
