Puff Daddy Sets Bad Boy Reunion Concert for Notorious B.I.G. Birthday
Puff Daddy will reunite his Bad Boy Records family for a “One Night Only” concert at Brooklyn’s Barclays Arena on May 20th, the day that marks what would have been the Notorious B.I.G.‘s 44th birthday. Puff Daddy and the Family as well as the hip-hop label’s biggest artists – including Mase, Faith Evans, Lil Kim, the Lox, Total, 112, French Montana and Mario Winans – will all perform at the concert, which also promises guest appearances by Mary J. Blige and Jay Z.
“This isn’t just another concert – This is hip-hop history,” Puff Daddy said in a statement. “The Bad Boy Family includes some of the biggest names in music and songs that helped define a whole generation of music. Also, we are celebrating one of the greatest of all time – Notorious B.I.G. This will be a night to remember. I can’t wait to see you all there.”
Tickets for the Bad Boy reunion concert go on sale April 2nd at 11 a.m. local time at Live Nation. The event will feature music spanning over 20 years of the Bad Boy discography, as well as a celebration of the Notorious B.I.G.‘s legacy. In June 2015, Diddy staged a mini Bad Boy reunion at the BET Awards, bringing out Mase, French Montana, the Lox’s Jadakiss and Sheek Louch, 112, Pharrell Williams and more for a 10-minute mega-medley.
More recently, Faith Evans hinted at a possible Bad Boy reunion concert or tour during an interview on the Dame Dash Radio Show, where the singer and B.I.G. widow also revealed that a hologram of the rapper could take part in the performance. It’s unclear whether the Biggie hologram will be part of the Barclays celebration.
