See Demi Lovato Sing ‘Stone Cold’ in Strangers’ Home
Demi Lovato found herself singing her latest Confident single, the powerful ballad “Stone Cold,” in an unusual setting recently when The Late Late Show With James Corden moved its production to a randomly selected house in the Los Angeles area. The singer belted the tune, accompanied by a grand piano, in a home belonging to four people named Natalie, Taylor, Melodie and Adam.
Corden had begun the show by going door-to-door, trying to find people who would allow him to shoot his late-night show in their homes. After being denied by a few other locals, the foursome welcomed the host, music director Reggie Watts and the show’s crew into their home. Additionally, Corden brought guests Colin Farrell, Wanda Sykes and veteran animal wrangler Jack Hanna with him.
Before the singing performance, Corden asked Lovato whether she was more nervous about singing at the Grammys or at what ultimately became hashtagged #NataliesHouse. “Natalie’s house, no comparison,” Lovato said. “When you’re in a huge arena, I look out in the audience and it’s easier in a sense. When you’re in a small environment, if you suck, the person’s two feet away from you and they’re looking at you like you’re doing a terrible job.”
At one point, Corden played hide and seek with the guests in the house. Lovato hid upstairs, behind a curtain where the roommates “store all of [their] extra shit,” one said. She’d attempted to hide herself behind a musical tie.
