Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley Lead 2015 iHeartRadio Country Festival Lineup
Austin will add ‘country’ to its Live Music Capital of the World nickname on May 2nd, when some of Nashville’s biggest names descend on the Texas city for the second annual iHeartRadio Country Festival. Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts and Brantley Gilbert are the first artists announced for the show, which will take place at the University of Texas’ Frank Erwin Center. iHeartMedia radio personality Bobby Bones will serve as emcee.
“Every single one of these artists can headline an arena or stadium on their own, but on this night they will share the stage to celebrate the amazing music on our iHeartRadio country stations,” says John Sykes, President of iHeartMedia Entertainment Enterprises.
The iHeartRadio Country Festival is cousin to the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas and the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Concert Tour, among other events. Fans who can’t make it to Austin can listen live on one of the company’s 120 country radio stations, or online at iHeartRadio.com. Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum and Hunter Hayes were all part of the star-studded inaugural lineup last year.
Leading this year’s lineup, McGraw will be Texas-bound just before the start of his Shotgun Rider Tour, also featuring Billy Currington and Chase Bryant. Rascal Flatts have also revealed 2015 headlining plans: their Riot Tour kicks off May 29th, with Scotty McCreery along for the ride. Paisley’s Country Nation World Tour has been extended through March, and Brantley Gilbert will join Kenny Chesney and Jason Aldean when their big tours merge this summer.
