Watch Jennifer Lopez Shake ‘Booty’ With Iggy Azalea for 2014 AMAs
“Prepare audience for maximum impact,” Jennifer Lopez commanded as she ended the 2014 American Music Awards with her debut television performance of “Booty.”
Joined by fellow posterior-shaker Iggy Azalea, Lopez writhed around in a box flanked by more than a dozen dancers. Azalea, who had previously won AMAs for Favorite Rap/Hip Hop Artist and Favorite Rap/Hip Hop Album, ceded most of the spotlight to Lopez, who performed an elaborately choreographed routine while emphasizing her titular body part.
The performance was the most controversial going into Sunday’s show after TMZ claimed that censors at ABC were “nervous” about the duo’s show. In the end, the duo’s version of the song, while scintillating, hardly reached censor-interference levels.
“Booty” capped off the three-hour show that saw performances by Taylor Swift, One Direction, Lorde and 5 Seconds of Summer, among others.
