Watch the Latest, Mysterious ‘Better Call Saul’ Teaser
Atticus Finch was a crusader for justice and Lt. Daniel Kaffee proved he could handle the truth — but neither has the mug to prove that they’re the world’s greatest lawyer. In fact, only one man is righteous enough to claim that title, and he’s willing to pay half price for it too: Saul Goodman.
In this exclusive new teaser for AMC’s Breaking Bad spinoff, Better Call Saul, a camera scans a shelf of “World’s Greatest” mugs — “Girlfriend,” “Teacher,” and “Boss” — before finally landing on the “Lawyer” selection, with one missing. Though as that sweet elevator muzak continues to play, a gold-cuffed hand deftly exchanges the full-priced $1.99 mug for a chipped one with a 50-percent off sticker.
Better Call Saul makes its special two-night premiere on Sunday, February 8th, and Monday, the 9th, with both episodes airing at 10 p.m. EST/PST (from then on it will regularly air Monday nights at 10 p.m.). The show stars Bob Odenkirk as the skeevy, scheming lawyer he played on Breaking Bad, but is set in the early 2000s, six years before Walter White began his reign of terror.
Created by Breaking Bad mastermind Vince Gilligan and writer Peter Gould, Better Call Saul will focus on the transformation of Jimmy McGill — “a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny and hustling to make ends meet,” according to a press release — into Saul Goodman. Amazingly, the show has already been renewed for a second season.
Better Call Saul‘s cast features Michael McKean (playing Saul’s brother), Rhea Seehorn, Patrick Fabian and Michael Mando. The show also boasts Breaking Bad regular Jonathan Banks, who will reprise his role as the grouchy fixer Mike Ehrmantraut. Be sure to watch him and Goodman duke it out over a parking space during their first ever meeting in this minute-long preview clip.
