Jimmy Kimmel Attempts Sia’s ‘Chandelier’ Dance
Sia paid a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday night to perform her hit “Chandelier” in support of her new album, 1000 Forms of Fear. The Australian singer gave her customary back-to-the-audience performance, but she brought along a special weapon in 11-year-old Maddie Ziegler, the “Dance Moms” star whose incredible dancing made the video such a sensation.

In addition to her live dance performance during the song, Ziegler also generously agreed to tutor Jimmy Kimmel and Guillermo in the video’s choreography. “I decided that I should know how to dance like that,” Kimmel explained to the audience before the segment.
Outfitted in matching platinum wigs and flesh-toned leotards, Kimmel and his sidekick were carefully instructed in the routine, along with lessons in how to do crazy eyes in order to “sell it with your face.” Both men manage a rough approximation of the choreography before Kimmel insists the three do the dance together.
“Was I intimidated by the choreography? They haven’t choreographed choreography that intimidates this guy,” Kimmel said. “I don’t dance a lot, but when I do dance, I dance well. It’s when I feel most free, when I’m dancing.” Ziegler tried her best to stay positive about her companions’ abilities.
Kimmel’s recreation wasn’t the first oddball rendition of Sia’s work on late-night TV. During the singer’s stop at Late Night With Seth Meyers in early June, Girls mastermind Lena Dunham accompanied the song with a vigorous interpretative dance performance.
